Scholarships

The Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (ICAP) is the country’s largest and oldest Coalition of Real Estate Appraisers. Through its long-range planning process, ICAP identified encouraging and promoting inclusivity in the field of real estate appraisal as a strategic imperative for the association. This led to the creation of ICAP’s Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee. The mission of ICAP’s Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee is as follows:

ICAP through its Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee is committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure ICAP members and their appraisals are free of both intentional bias and unintentional preconceptions that might misrepresent property value and/or neighborhood conditions.

The Appraiser Diversity Committee has three areas of concentration:

1) Communication of ICAP’s continuing commitment.
2) Attract a more diverse pool of appraiser trainees and candidates
3) Help minority trainees and candidates advance more quickly toward their real estate appraisal credentials.

As a result of ICAP’s Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee ICAP now sponsors both a Diversity and Trainee merit-based Scholarships for its members.
